I'm sure there are plenty of companies willing to insure us with cheap life insurance. Since we moved back to the uk finding cheap life insurance was just another one of those things we had to sort out.

I typed into the search bar cheap life insurance .Within second hundreds of companies came up. Within one click I selected the first firm offering cheap life insurance. I couldn't be bothered spending useful time on such a boring task so in a jiff I was signed up and done.

Now I could get on with the rest of my day. We had moved back to England because my mum was very ill and she needed me. Besides , I wanted to be with her it wasn't a duty.I had always loved and been close to my family .

We had to move with Brian's job .He was posted from time to time across the globe. We had just returned from Indonesia. He was managing a fuel project out there. When his stint ended we requested to return to England rather than another post abroad.

It would give us the chance to re-connect in a hands on way with our families again. We were both looking forward to this new phase in our lives.

Mum has been having treatment for cancer. She was responding well but the side effects at the moment make her feel really tired.

Today I'm going to pop round and visit her. She doesn't live too far away only,a ten minute drive.

When I arrived she was dozing away on the settee.

'Mum, mum, ......mum its me love'

'Uh, Uh, Oh sorry love, hello Sue.I must have dozed off'

'It's OK mum, you are allowed to you know, shall I make us a cup of tea?'

'Oh that would be nice'

'I tell you what mum, how about you spruce up and we go out for a treat to that nice little cafe in the square, it will do you good to get some fresh air, its lovely and warm out'

'Oh that would be nice, I wont be two ticks '.

We had a lovely afternoon tea for two and a good chat about how everything was going and what Brian was up to. As we were walking back to the car she stopped and asked;

'Sue, would you do me a big favour and drive me over to your dads grave?'

'Of course mum, in fact I wanted to go in any case we'll pick up some flowers on the way'.

I went to get the watering can and fill it up while mum arranged the flowers. As I came back ,I could see she was talking to dad. She must not have heard me behind her because she was stroking the stonewhen I heard her say;

'I'll soon be with you my love'

I went numb. I thought the treatment had been going well.

'Come on mum love, don't think like ,that you're going to be fine'

'I wish I could believe that Sue, despite what the doctors tell me I don't feel right. There is a knowing inside of me that my time is coming. I'm not scared . I'm tired love. Come on anyway, I'm not going today!'

I could not describe how I felt after I had left my mothers house. I was scared.
